Three days on the farm. Come early and stay late. Hikes before the heat, harvest in the morning, the lake in the afternoon, and everybody at the table by five.
A letter from Dave & Ann
This is an incredible year: Mom and Dad have been married for FIFTY years. Come out and celebrate all that they’ve accomplished in this new and late chapter of their lives. Mom and Dad aren’t much for organizing so we’ve taken it upon ourselves to arrange this event welcome page.
A special note from Ann: I’m new to the family, but I’ve been with Dave for eight years now, and married for three. I’m looking forward to meeting some of you for the first time, and am looking forward to reconnecting with the rest of you.
A special note from Dave: My life has taken quite the turn in the last ten years. Some of you only remember me as a hippie dippy weirdo, others as a rebellious teen, some as a radical left activist, etc. I’ve been through a lot of phases and am currently entering one that must seem like a mirror opposite: Catholic father, husband, farmer. Not just that, I’m still a philosopher who has a critique of both Christianity and of atheism, the Left and the Right... If you’re curious about any of that, too bad, family reunions are not a place for politics or religion, right? Wrong. I’m going to be sharing deep personal journey stuff only for you guys in the mornings. These will be like a little talk that I give, followed by discussion. If you want to do the same thing and share your journey, you will be able to as well. One morning is me with my brothers, one is me with my sisters, and the third morning is for everyone. Look, I gave up a long time ago on trying to change Mom and Dad, and it’s been the best thing for me. They change on their own when left to grow, when the past is not being rubbed in their faces. With that said, there is something to remembering, and taking accountability, and talking about what’s changed. That’s what I’m going to be doing. If you’re a direct sibling, you’re welcome to join me.
McKerracher Family Farm is a testimony to the new chapter Mom and Dad, and now Dave and Ann, have turned in their lives. This reunion is the weekend that it rolls out the welcome mat to the whole family.
Come for the mornings conversations, afternoon lake days, opportunities to help on the farm or at the market, and get together for games and food.
A few things are mandatory if you’re here: the harvest, and the dinners.
Everything else is yours to pick from. Read the schedule, then RSVP below so we know who’s coming and what’s landing on the table.
Need a ride? Let us know on the form and we’ll sort it out.
